At least of 97 cases of quarantine violations have been acted upon following the creation of a social media account where the public could report violators of health protocols, according to the Joint Task Force COVID Shield on Tuesday.

The JTF COVID Shield Facebook page was created on September 11. Most of the reports they have been receiving and monitoring came from Metro Manila and Calabarzon.

According to JTF COVID Shield commander Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar, most of the cases were settled at the barangay level after issuance of warning and imposition of fines.

Recently, two individuals were apprehended in Marilao, Bulacan after a netizen complained about their frequent social gathering that includes having a drinking session.

They were identified as Racquel Rivera and Cesar Jhon Rivera. Eleazar said the netized reported to authorities that those who had attended the gatherings of the two usually ignored the use of face masks and face shields as well as the observance of physical distancing.
