Duterte wishes Trump, wife Melania a speedy recovery -Palace

President Rodrigo Duterte has joined other world leaders in wishing US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania a speedy recovery after the couple had tested positive for COVID-19.

At a news conference in Boracay on Monday, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque touted the friendship between Duterte and Trump, who visited the Philippines in November 2017 for the ASEAN Summit.

“Alam n’yo po malapit na magkaibigan ang ating Presidente at si President Trump. He wishes President Trump and his wife, First Lady Melania, a full and speedy recovery,” Roque said.

Trump announced to the world last Friday that he and his wife had contracted the virus. The US leader was then admitted to a military hospital where he is being treated using doses of a five-day course of the intravenous antiviral drug remdesivir and steroid dexamethasone.

Trump's doctors said Sunday that his condition was improving and that he could be discharged as early as Monday.—AOL, GMA News
