Duterte gov’t ‘further inspired’ by survey result on pandemic response —Palace

Malacañang on Thursday welcomed the results of the survey showing that most Filipinos approve of the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A survey by Pulse Asia from September 14 to 20 found that 84% approve of the work of the government in controlling COVID-19 transmission and providing assistance to those whose livelihoods were affected by the pandemic.

Ninety-two percent of Filipinos also believe that President Rodrigo Duterte has done well to prevent the spread of the virus, which has already killed 5,925 people in the country.

“We are humbled and we are further inspired to serve the Filipino people in this time of pandemic and crisis. Maraming maraming salamat po,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing.

Another Pulse Asia survey indicated high job approval and trust scores for Duterte amid the pandemic.

Roque earlier said the 91% approval and trust ratings of the President showed Filipinos’ disdain for politicking while the nation is dealing with the impact of the pandemic. — BM, GMA News
