IATF meeting set to clarify age range allowed outdoors amid COVID-19 —Roque

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) will meet on Thursday afternoon to clarify the age range allowed to go outside amid the COVID-19 threat, according to Palace spokesperson Harry Roque.

Interviewed on Unang Hirit, Roque said the 15 to 65 years age range, which was included in a presentation of the economic team to the IATF, was actually not a recommendation but only an "example."

“Pagpupulungan po ng IATF ngayong hapon at lilinawin kung ano talaga 'yung edad kasi yung rekomendasyon ng economic cluster ay for example lamang,” he said.

Roque explained that during the last IATF meeting, National Economic and Development Authority Acting Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua made a presentation that also covered the age range of persons that should be allowed outside their homes even amid the pandemic.

In the presentation, the 15 to 65 age range was cited as an example only, Roque said.

“Nagpresenta si Secretary Karl on behalf of the economic team at unanimously approved lahat ng recommendations nila,” he said.

“Pagdating doon sa edad, ang nakasulat ‘e.g.’— ang ibig sabihin ng ‘e.g.’ po for example. So hindi po talaga siya kongkretong rekumendasyon bagamat ang nakalagay po doon ay 15 to 65,” Roque added. —KBK, GMA News
