Four employees of the Department of Justice (DOJ) recently tested positive for COVID-19 and were quarantined, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Monday.

Three of the employees were security officers and the fourth was an administrative aide. Other employees who may have been exposed to the positive cases were tested on Monday.

"No need to impose a lockdown at this time, unless more employees turn out positive for COVID-19 after today's testing," Guevarra said in a message to reporters.

The affected premises had also been disinfected.

The DOJ was locked down for more than a week last June after five employees were found to have COVID-19.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines rose to 359,169 on Monday. More than 310,000 patients have been tagged as recoveries while the death toll climbed to 6,675.  — DVM, GMA News
