DOH grants P20-M cash aid to Rolly-hit areas, hospitals

The Department of Health (DOH) granted P20 million worth of financial assistance to hospitals in areas devastated by Super Typhoon Rolly.

Health Undersecretary Rosario Vergeire said that the P20 million was distributed to three DOH hospitals and affected areas and cities in the Bicol region.

The DOH hospitals who received aid include:

  • Bicol Regional Training ang Teaching Hospital in Legazpi, Albay (P5 million)
  • Bicol Medical Center in Naga City, Camarines Sir (P5 million) and

  • Bicol Region General Hospital and Geriatric Medical Center in Cabusao, Camarines Sur (P2 million)

As to the provinces, P2 million went to Camarines Sur, while Albay and Catanduanes got P1.5 million each.

Naga City got P1.2 million, while Camarines Norte, Masbate and Soraogon got P600,000 each.

Rolly, the strongest cyclone to hit the country in 2020, pounded Luzon over the weekend, leaving 20 people dead, 74 injured and three missing, according to latest report by the  National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday. --Llanesca T. Panti/KBK, GMA News
