NDRRMC says death toll due to Rolly climbs to 22

The number of deaths recorded due to Super Typhoon Rolly has increased to 22, data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) showed on Friday.

According to the NDRRMC, the number of injured individuals was 165 while three others remain missing. The agency said the casualties were recorded from Bicol region, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA.


A total of 128 cities and municipalities in Regions V, VIII, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA are still encountering power interruption. Moreover, water supply is also a problem in 85 cities and municipalities in Region V and MIMAROPA.

On the other hand, 16 roads and six bridges are still not passable in Regions II, III, CALABARZON, V, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Damages

The NDRRMC also reported P11,228,895,685.78 worth of damage to infrastructure  in Regions I, II, III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, V, VIII, CAR, and the National Capital Region.

A total of 53,747 houses were destroyed in CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol, and CAR.

Rolly also brought P2,924,837,533 worth of damage to crops, livestock, fisheries, and even agricultural facilities in CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Regions V, and VIII as well as NCR.

So far, a total of P52,945,868.20 worth of assistance has been extended to the victims of Rolly.—AOL, GMA News
