PNP acquires over P1.2B equipment, vehicles


The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday acquired more than P1.2 billion worth of assets and equipment as part of its modernization program under the police's PATROL Plan 2030.

The newly-procured assets include the following:

  •     11 units Shuttle Bus;
  •     22 units High-Speed Tactical Watercraft;
  •     355 units Patrol Jeep Single Cab 4x2;
  •     5,767 units Galil Ace 22N 5.56mm Basic Assault Rifle; and
  •     214 units VHF Lowband Handheld Radio.

PNP chief Police General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan led the blessing and send-off of the equipment and police vehicles this morning in Camp Crame.

Cascolan said the latest procurement program was funded through the Capability Enhancement Programs (CEPs) 2019 and 2020 and CEP 2019 balances with a total amount of P1,221,601,033.

He said the 11 bus units would be distributed to police regional offices as added transportation assets of their personnel for faster mobilization during operations.

The 22 units High-Speed Tactical Watercrafts will be utilized by the PNP Maritime Group and Special Action Force for preventive patrol and anti-criminality operations along coastal waters, Cascolan said.

He added that the Patrol Jeep Single Cab 4x2 would be distributed to different municipal police stations across the country to boost their police patrol operations.

The Police Mobile Forces will utilize the 5,767 units Galil Ace 22N 5.56mm Basic Assault Rifle while the 214 units VHF Lowband Handheld Radio will be issued to Communications and Electronics Service, Cascolan said.

The police force also accepted two units of 2020 Toyota Coaster and one unit of Nissan Urvan NV350 Cargo Shuttle from the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc.—AOL, GMA News
