PNP chief Sinas on mañanita issue: Tuldukan na natin

Newly-installed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Debold Sinas on Wednesday urged the public, especially his critics, to move on as regards his controversial mañanita in May.

Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of the change of command ceremony in the National Capital Region Police Office, Sinas said the decision on the criminal complaints filed against him is already in the hands of the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office.

Sinas also said being criticized is always a part of his job as a policeman. He said he does not have the time to answer all the criticisms against him.

"Sinabi ko na that's part of the job, hindi po natin maiwasan 'yun.

In his term as NCRPO chief, his birthday celebration despite strict quarantine measures was the most controversial issue he had faced.

Sinas apologized over the incident but he insisted that during his birthday celebration, guests had observed social distancing. He also said some of the photos that circulated online, which drew flak from netizens, were old posts.

The PNP's Internal Affairs Service filed criminal complaints against Sinas and 18 other police officers and men over his controversial birthday celebration.
