NGCP reports updates on power lines knocked off by Typhoon Ulysses

Several power transmission lines operated by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) are still down in the wake of Typhoon Ulysses onslaught.

In an advisory, the NGCP said as of 7 p.m., November 13, the following transmission lines were listed unavailable:

North Luzon

  • La Trinidad-Mankayan-Sagada 69 kilovolt (kV) Line

Customer affected: BENECO (Atok and Mankayan), MOPRECO (Banao and Sagada)

  • Gamu-Ilagan 69kV Line

Customer affected: ISELCO I, ISELCO II

Tuguegarao-Magapit 69kV Line

Date/Time Out: 12 November 2020, 10:22PM

Date/Time Restored: 12 November 2020, 10:35 p.m. (partially energized)

Customer affected: CAGELCO II

  • Cabanatuan-Bulualto 69kV Line

Meanwhile, the Ligao-Polangui and Ligao-Ligao 69kV lines are restored, “awaiting only confirmation from APEC before energization.”

“NGCP is conducting aerial and foot patrols to assess the extent of the damage to its facilities, and simultaneously conducting restoration activities to areas already accessible,” the grid operator said.

“Please note that loss of power may be caused by affected transmission facilities of NGCP or distribution facilities of local distribution utilities or electric cooperatives. Specific cities and municipalities affected by the power interruptions are determined by concerned Distribution Utilities, unless the outage affects the entire franchise areas,” it added.

On the other hand, the following transmission lines have been restored:

  • Gumaca-Lopez 69kV Line
