Following the aftermath of a series of typhoons punctuated by Ulysses, President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday assured that the country will recover.
In a speech at Malacañang, Duterte lauded the Filipino value of resilience amid trials.
"Alam ko na naghihirap kayo, alam ko na kailangan niyo ng tulong at alam ko na inaasahan ninyo na 'yung tulong aabot sa madaling panahon sa lugar ninyo," Duterte said, who assured continuing government operations in his speech.
"Kaya natin ito, ilang pahirap na ng panahon... Babangon din tayo, mahirap pero alam mo naman ang Pilipino, alam niyang tumindig uli," he added.
Duterte made the statement as he announced the creation of a task force that will conduct rehabilitation and relief efforts in areas in the country that are hard-hit by typhoons. —JST, GMA News
