By ANNA FELICIA BAJO, GMA News

Some foreign countries have offered assistance to help victims of the typhoons that recently hit the Philippines, Defense chief Delfin Lorenzana said Tuesday.

"Marami na and we are... ito kasing foreign aid bago makarating sa OCD (Office of Civil Defense), dadaan muna sa Foreign Affairs, sila 'yung nagpaprocess. I think the Foreign Affairs is processing some of the help or assistance coming from abroad," Lorenzana said in an interview.

Asked what countries offered aid, Lorenzana mentioned the United States, Japan, and other neighboring countries.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has recommended the declaration of state of calamity over the entire Luzon due to the damages brought by the storms in the previous weeks.
