While he was fuming at Vice President Leni Robredo over the “#NasaanAngPangulo” hashtag which she did not create, President Rodrigo Duterte admitted that his day begins at 2 p.m. despite holding the highest office in the land.

Duterte said he is a “night person” who reviews documents late at night.

“Pirma lang, okay lang. But if you read, ibang istorya ‘yan. So it would take time. Sometimes I sleep 4, 5, 6, 7 [a.m.], sometimes 8 [a.m.] pagka madalian,” he said.

“Sinabi ko sa tao ‘yan that I’m a night person. My day begins at 2 o’ clock hanggang sa gabi na, walang limit. Cabinet meetings, gano’n… hanggang gabi na ‘yan, aabot ng 2, 3 ng umaga,” Duterte added.

The President made the remark after he falsely accused

Robredo of questioning his whereabouts at the height of Typhoon Ulysses’ onslaught.

“Ngayon, kung sabihin mong may emergency, natutulog ako sa umaga, hindi ako natutulog noon. Nagising ako nang maaga because of the [ASEAN] Summit,” he said.

The hashtag #NasaanAngPangulo became viral on social media as netizens slammed Duterte’s absence from the public eye at the height of Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses.

“There was no need for you to make a very masamang biro na where were you?” Duterte told Robredo.

In 2016, then president-elect Duterte said his working hours would be from 1 p.m. to 12 a.m. once he took office.
