Isko reminds Divisoria shoppers to observe social distancing

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Monday appealed to marketgoers in Divisoria and other public markets in the city to observe health protocols especially social distancing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moreno aired his appeal after reports said physical distancing was hardly observed in Divisoria over the weekend.

Interviewed by reporters, Moreno reminded marketgoers the big money they would have to spend in case they get infected with COVID-19, not to mention the risk to their life.

"Baka gusto niyo makatipid, pero nagpabaya naman kayo, milyon po ang gagastusin niyo pag kayo nagka-COVID, milyun-milyon, at di pa tiyak kung kayo ay maliligtas," Moreno said.

"Kaya importante ang malasakit sa kapwa, malasakit sa sarili at disiplina. Yun ang aking panawagan," he added. 

According to a 24 Oras Weekend report by Mav Gonzales on Sunday, security guards in Divisoria repeatedly reminded shoppers to practice physical distancing but to no avail.   —KBK, GMA News
