Robredo to Duterte: You're thinking 2022 in a disaster?

Vice President Leni Robredo has dismissed President Rodrigo Duterte’s threat of making her possible 2022 Presidential run a nightmare, saying that threats are only made by people who weren't sure of themselves.

Robredo also questioned the Chief Executive for thinking about the election year when the country was reeling from a calamity.

Robredo said in a radio interview.

Duterte in a televised briefing last week had a mouthful for Robredo after he said she asked where he was in the middle of the storm and in its wake.

Robredo never publicly asked for Duterte's whereabouts when she went to disaster-stricken areas after Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses hit in successive weeks.

“Marami ako sabihin sa'yo. Reserba ko na lang. When you start your campaign, waswasan kita. This is your nightmare," Duterte said in remarks that were apparently based on false information.

Robredo said Duterte should know that there was hardly anything a person could do to prepare for the presidency especially since he won by a landslide in 2016 even if he joined the race at the last minure.

Walang nakakaplano," Robredo said.

Then Davao City Mayor Duterte beat then administration candidate and former Secretary of Interior and Local Government Manuel “Mar” Roxas by around nine million votes during the 2016 Presidential polls.

Robredo, the administration candidate then, beat then Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., by 263,473 votes to win the Vice Presidential contest.

-NB, GMA News
