Jomel Lapides, topnotcher of 2020 Physician Licensure Exam, also topped 2011 nursing boards


Jomel Lapides just became a two-time board topnotcher after the results of the 2020 Physician Licensure Examination was released on Thursday.

Back in July 2011, Lapides also topped the Nurses Licensure Examination with a rating of 88.40 percent.

A graduate of the University of the Philippines Manila, he bested more than 3,500 medical students in this year's boards with a rating of 88.67 percent.

Meanwhile, another UP Manila graduate, Tiffany Uy, who broke the record of the highest grade point average in UP in 2015, placed fifth in this year's board exam.

In July this year, Uy graduated Magna Cum Laude from UP College of Medicine. She was also the class valedictorian.

The son of former National Task Force adviser Dr. Tony Leachon, Jolo, also passed the licensure examinations. —Jannielyn Bigtas/MGP, GMA News
