10 provincial point-to-point bus routes to open December 21 — LTFRB
By VIRGIL LOPEZ,GMA NewsTen provincial point-to-point bus routes will begin operations on December 21, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said, after the government’s COVID-19 task force gave the go-signal on Monday.
The routes include the following:
- Clark, Pampanga - SM North EDSA
- Clark, Pampanga - NAIA Terminal (with limited Stop in Ortigas)
- Clark, Pampanga - Lubao, Pampanga (with special stops in San Fernando and Angeles City)
- Clark, Pampanga - Dagupan, Pangasinan (with special stops at Rosales and Urdaneta, Pangasinan)
- Clark, Pampanga - Subic, Zambales (with special stop at Dinalupihan, Bataan)
- NAIA/Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITx) - Baguio City
- Batangas City - Ortigas
- Batangas City - PITx
- Lipa City, Batangas - Ortigas
- Lipa City, Batangas - PITx

A total of 269 buses will be deployed and will be given unhampered passage through the different local government units en route to the destination.
“There are [a] number of LGUs na maingat sa pagbubukas ng kanilang mga borders; at iyong mga nagbubukas din ng mga borders, sinasabi rin nila na mayroon pong mga number of routes or number of units na ina-allow sa bawat LGU,” LTFRB Chairperson Martin Delgra III said at the Laging Handa briefing.
“Mayroon din pong mga LGU kung saan sapat iyong kakayahan nila at handa na tumugon kung saka-sakali pong mayroon pong mga kaso ng mga COVID na hindi na po nagsi-set ng cap.”
Delgra added they will continue to engage LGUs with regard to the opening of more bus routes across the country.
“Hindi lang po iyong mga ruta na papuntang Metro Manila, pati na rin po iyong mga tinatawag nating inter-regional routes not touching Metro Manila – sa Visayas at saka sa Mindanao po,” he said. — RSJ, GMA News
