Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Monday ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to probe the reported sale of sensual photos and videos by students struggling to cope with distance learning requirements amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In a department order,  Guevarra tasked the NBI with investigating the “alleged proliferation of trafficking in persons and online sexual exploitation of children, particularly the reported sale and offering for sale of sensual photographs, videos, or pornography of students.”

The NBI was also ordered to file charges against persons involved in any unlawful acts connected with the sale of lewd photos and videos.

Guevarra said the NBI must submit a progress report within 10 days and provide updates periodically afterward.
