Christine Dacera's remains brought home to GenSan

The body of Christine Dacera, the flight attendant who was found lifeless inside a hotel room in Makati City on New Year’s Day,  was brought to her hometown in General Santos City on Thursday morning.

According to a report on Balitanghali, a private wake was held by Dacera's relatives and close friends before her remains were flown to General Santos City.

Dacera was found dead in the bathtub of a room in City Garden Grand Hotel on January 1. The police and her family believe she was raped, and three suspects were arrested and detained for rape with homicide.

The Makati Prosecutor's Office, however, said there is not enough evidence to support the rape claim and ordered the release of the three.

Dacera’s family also does not believe that she died of aortic aneurysm as indicated on a medical report, a copy of which has gone  viral on social media.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the National Bureau of Investigation will conduct a second autopsy on Dacera’s body to determine the real cause of her death. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/KBK, GMA News
