Twelve occupants of Room 2207, the other hotel room visited by flight attendant Christine Dacera before she died, went to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday, an official said.

The 12 "persons of interest" were accompanied by three lawyers as they heeded a subpoena issued by investigators, NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin told GMA News Online.

The NBI earlier urged the persons of interest to come forward

and cooperate with authorities.

Dacera's companions at Room 2209 the City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati, where they had checked in to welcome the new year, said they were introduced to people at Room 2207 by a common friend.

Dacera's friends said she went to the other room several times.

After the 23-year-old flight attendant died on January 1, police accused her companions of rape with homicide and detained three of them until prosecutors ordered their release pending further investigation.

The Makati prosecutor's office has started its preliminary investigation, a process that will end with a resolution on whether or not they will file charges in court.

The NBI's efforts, which include a second autopsy of Dacera's body, are part of a separate investigation ordered by Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra.—LDF, GMA News
