PNP chief names 22 officials to new posts in major revamp

Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Debold Sinas ordered on Saturday a major reorganization of senior police officers occupying key positions in the Directorial Staff, Police Regional Offices, and National Support Units.

In a news brief sent to media on Sunday, the PNP information office said the reshuffle was triggered by the retirement of some senior officials, prompting an upward movement of third level officers.

"PNP Health Service Director, Police Brigadier General Nolasco Bathan retires today, January 31, while  Police Major General Amado Clifton Empiso, erstwhile Director for Intelligence, and Police Major General Joel Napoleon Coronel, Director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) are set to retire from the police service in February 6th and 11th, respectively," the news brief indicated.

Sinas was quoted as saying, “We are infusing new blood into the command structure to fill the void created by the retirement of some senior officials and ensure continuity of command.” 

Earlier, Sinas named Police Brigadier General Luisito Magnaye as Director of PNP Health Service, Police Major General Dennis P Agustin as PNP Director for Intelligence vice Empiso, while Police Brigadier General Albert Ignatius D Ferro was designated as Acting Director CIDG vice Coronel effective January 30, 2021.

Other new designations are:
