Phase 2 of mass vaccination program vs. polio, measles, rubella starts
The second phase of the mass vaccination program against polio, measles, and rubella started Monday, according to a report of Jun Veneracion on GMA News TV’s Balitanghali.
According to the Department of Health, Phase 2 will be conducted in the Visayas, the National Capital Region, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon.
The program targets to vaccinate 9 million children nationwide, including 1 million in Metro Manila.
During the Phase 1 last year, the immunization targeted Mindanao regions, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, and Bicol.
DOH – NCR director Dr. Corazon Flores underscored the importance of vaccination against these diseases especially as the country is currently facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
