Voter registration on Saturdays to start in February —Comelec

Voter registration for the upcoming 2022 elections will now be conducted even on Saturdays, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Wednesday.

Comelec commissioner Rowena Guanzan made the announcement via Twitter, saying the move was to accommodate individuals turning 18 and those working from Monday to Friday.

“So no excuses, register na!” Guanzon said in a tweet.

Guanzon had earlier said the Comelec is behind its target of four million new voter registrants.

As of January 14, Guanzon said the Comelec has recorded 1,117,528 voter applicants.
