Roque takes diving trip after telling critics 'stop dead in your tracks'

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. over the weekend took a diving trip off Boracay a day after lashing out at critics and telling them "manigas kayong lahat" (roughly "stop dead in your tracks").

Video shared by DiveGurus Boracay showed that Roque took a dive at Friday's Reef at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

In October last year, Roque encouraged Filipinos to visit Boracay Island to help restart the economy of the world- famous tourist destination. He then swam too far from the shoreline and was escorted back by a lifeguard.

Roque's latest trip came a day after he lashed out at critics of President Rodrigo Duterte and boasted the Mega Manila Subway project during the arrival of the first cutter head for the boring machine for underground drilling.

“Let today’s event be recorded in the annals of Philippine history as another first of the Duterte administration and to his critics, I have only this to say: Manigas kayong lahat!” Roque said.

The Mega Manila Subway project was initially targeted to start partial operations by the fourth quarter of this year. The government in 2018 signed a ¥104.530-billion (around P51 billion) loan deal with the Japan International Cooperation Committee (JICA) to finance the first phase of the subway project. —with Jun N.
