Seniors told to get doctors’ approval before getting vaccines

Senior citizens must first get approval from doctors before getting inoculated with the vaccine against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to Ian Cruz’s report on “24 Oras.”

For 74-year-old Carmelita Sun-Bernabe, it was not advisable.

Her 20-year-old grandchild, meanwhile, has skin asthma and was also advised to refrain from getting administered with the vaccine.

After frontline medical workers, the Philippine Government aims to vaccine senior citizens based on the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO)

Experts, however, have advised seniors to first consult doctors.

“Bigyan mo sila ng bakuna para maproteksyonan sila,” said Dr. Jenifer Otadoy-Agustin, an allergy specialist at the Philippine General Hospital.

-Joahna Lei Casilao/NB, GMA News
