DILG urges LGUs to prepare ‘clean’ list of COVID-19 vaccine recipients

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Sunday called on local government units (LGUs) to come up with an error-free list of recipients of COVID-19 vaccines.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said they received reports of concern about a possible mix-up in the lists like what happened in the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

“Diyan tayo sa listahan, sa tingin ko, makikiusap sa LGU na kailangan malinis 'yung listahan,” Malaya said.

“Well, of course, may mga sinasabi na baka mamaya magulo 'yung listahan parang 'yung nangyari sa SAP na ang gulo-gulo ng listahan,” he added.

According to Malaya, the process of listing COVID-19 vaccine recipients is not similar to the listing of beneficiaries in the SAP. He said the process will include pre-registration and screening.

“Iba naman kasi itong vaccination dahil meron itong pre-registration, may appointment system ito. And then bago ka bakunahan, dadaan ka  sa parang clearance, parang screening,” he added.

To avoid errors in the priority list of COVID-19 vaccination rollout, Malaya earlier said barangay health workers will screen first the recipients.

“The medical personnel at the barangay health center will screen all submissions to ensure that the individuals for vaccination are qualified and part of the priority list,” he said.

After this, he said the priority list will be submitted for consolidation in the city health office.

The Department of Health meanwhile has ordered initial vaccination sites to prepare a “quick substitution list” in case vaccine recipients fail or refuse to show up on schedule, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said Wednesday.
