DOH asks LGUs to submit vaccination micro-plans this week

The Department of Health (DOH) has asked local government units to submit this week their micro-plans for the vaccination program against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to Ian Cruz’s report on “24 Oras,” the request was made by the DOH in order to find out how many vaccinators and team members had been formed by local governments.

Dr. Napoleon Arevalo of the COVID-19 Policy and Planning on National Deployment and Vaccination Task Group said they may receive the plans by Friday.

“We’ll be getting the report, the readiness assessment report, and the status report of their enumeration by this afternoon or tomorrow, because they have been advised to submit it to us,” Arevalo said.

Meanwhile, vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said the inoculation program will be held in tranches.

“‘Yung ating mga vaccinations, hindi naman po ‘yan talagang simultaneous. Ang ano po niyan is may kaniya-kaniyang tinatawag nating tranches,” he said.

“At yan po ay one after the other na puwede tayong mag-recourse doon sa ibang mga place na nagkakaroon ng massive vaccination,” he added.

LGUs and hospitals have been training vaccinators and holding vaccine simulations in anticipation of the arrival of the vaccines, which has been delayed due to the lack of an indemnification law in the country. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
