2,148 people stranded in Vis-Min ports due to Storm Auring —PCG

A total of 2,148 passengers, drivers, and cargo helpers have been stranded in different ports in Mindanao and the Visayas due to Storm Auring, the Philippine Coast Guard said Saturday.

In its port monitoring report, the PCG said a total of 2,148 passengers, drivers, and cargo helpers; 30 vessels; 1 motor banca; and 776 rolling cargoes have remained stranded in Northern Mindanao Region, North Eastern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas and Central Visayas.

Moreover, 49 vessels and 26 motor bancas are taking shelter as a precautionary measure against the possible threat of the cyclone.

Also, it said that its command center is on 24/7 monitoring, and will strictly implement the movement of vessels during heavy weather.

Coast Guard deployable response groups (DRGs) deployed in the affected areas are all-set for possible evacuation and/or rescue operations in coordination with their respective local government units, it added. —LBG, GMA News
