29 more cops test positive for COVID-19

The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases within the Philippine National Police (PNP) climbed to 11,083 on Monday with 29 more employees testing positive for the illness.

The latest data from the PNP showed that total recoveries also rose to 10,618 after 39 additional police officers defeated the viral disease.

The death toll, meanwhile, remained at 31.

So far, there are 434 active COVID-19 cases within the police organization.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 increased to 563,456 including 12,094 deaths and 522,874 recoveries.

Of the remaining 28,488 active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine, 88.1% are mild, 5.7% are asymptomatic, 2.7% are critical, 2.6% are severe and 0.85% are moderate.

So far, the country has 62 COVID-19 cases with the UK variant, while two mutations of concern were recently detected in the Central Visayas. — DVM, GMA News
