QC cops got P6-M shabu from PDEA asset in buy-bust, says source

Quezon City policemen completed a transaction with suspected drug dealers on Commonwealth Avenue before the deadly shootout with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents on Wednesday, a source has told GMA News.

According to Emil Sumangil's exclusive report on "24 Oras", the source said a member of the QCPD already exchanged money for a kilo of shabu worth P6 million with the seller, a woman who later turned out to be a PDEA asset.

The buy-bust money was said to be P1 million. The rest was reportedly in fake bills.

The shooting reportedly started after the transaction was completed. The policeman who posed as the buyer and the other who was also in plain clothes each suffered at least 15 gunshot wounds.

A PDEA agent and the informant were also hit in the shootout that transpired.

PDEA spokesman Director Derrick Carreon said the agency would not comment on the information pending the investigation of the board of inquiry formed to look into what both sides called an unfortunate incident. -NB, GMA News
