Slated Philippine hospitals prepare for first arrival of COVID-19 vaccines

Some hospitals have begun preparing to receive and manage the first batch of Sinovac anti-COVID vaccine --expected to arrive Sunday afternoon -- for prioritized recipients in the country.

According to Rod Vega's report on "Dobol B TV," the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in Manila will receive some of the vaccines.

PGH spokesperson Dr. Jonas del Rosario said that their employees will be prioritized in the vaccination rollout.

Despite the fact that only 12% of their frontliners expressed willingness to get inoculated with Sinovac vaccines, Del Rosario said the hospital will take advantage of the opportunity to get the first batch of the doses.

Healthcare workers who are off-duty will be scheduled to receive the vaccines first, he said.

The vaccination activity will be conducted at UP Atrium.

According to a separate report of Divine Reyes, the Veterans Memorial Medical Center is on standby waiting for the arrival of the vaccines from Sinovac.

Frontliners of the Armed Forces of the Philippines are also set to receive the vaccines.

According to a report of Luisito Santos, the National Capital Region Police Office deployed some personnel to ensure the security of the vaccines.

Around 600,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines from Sinovac are expected to arrive on Sunday, while 525,600 from AstraZeneca on Monday. —LBG, GMA News
