Sinas leads ‘chubby’ cops in weight loss challenge

On World Obesity Day, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Debold Sinas led the launch of a program that seeks to help cops lose weight through diet and exercise.

Under the Chubby Anonymous Project, Sinas said he will join several PNP personnel to exercise and monitor their diet.

“Ang purpose ng Chubby Anonymous ay ito ‘yung guide namin. I will be joining them for the workout, monitoring ‘yung pagkain nila plus pa kwan sila ng weight loss pill,” Sinas said in his speech.

According to Sinas, volunteers will conduct a simple exercise every Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m., followed by another meeting at 8 a.m. on Saturday.

“Pagkatapos niyan ay iikot tayo sandali then uwi then we have [a] 3rd meeting of the week, ‘yung Saturday morning at 8 a.m. dito ulit tayo. Kailangan pagtiyagaan tayo,” he said.

Sinas urged the cops to persevere with the program, adding that they should have a valid reason to be absent.

“I did not devote time for you to make fun of it. So pagka usapan natin ay usapan. So authorized lang kayo ma-absent kung naospital kayo, nabangga kayo, o namatay kayo,” he said.

“So kailangan if you join the program, committed kayo to change part of your habits at hindi ko kayo tatanggalin kung saan kayo na-assign para sa natural habitat natin nandoon kayo. Okay ‘di ba?” he later added.

The PNP chief said normal operations will resume.

“You adapt on your own and we guide you through. Ganoon po gusto natin. Kailangan ‘yung normal duties natin ay nandiyan pa rin at susunod lang tayo sa mga suggestions, recommendations, and guidelines,” he said.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
