A total of 215,997 individuals have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of March 15, two weeks since the Philippines launched its vaccination program, government data showed on Tuesday.

The Department of Health and National Task Force Against COVID-19 said this figure makes up 38% of half of the 1,125,600 million doses that have arrived in the country so far.

The second half of the doses are reserved for the second jab.

Meanwhile, 96% or 1,079,400 of available doses have been distributed to 929 vaccination sites.

The seven-day moving average of daily vaccinated individuals stood at 23,466.

The regions with the highest vaccine coverage so far are Region 10, Metro Manila, and Region 2.

“Current deployment is limited to Priority Group A1 or frontline healthcare workers who were given the option between CoronaVac or AstraZeneca vaccines,” authorities said.

“The vaccination of healthcare workers is being done in batches to ensure adequate staffing in health facilities in light of possible adverse events.”

The Philippines has logged 631,320 COVID-19 cases with 560,736 recoveries and 12,848 deaths as of Tuesday afternoon. -MDM, GMA News
