Establishments allowed to operate under the NCR Plus bubble

Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal — designated as the ‘National Capital Region (NCR) Plus’ — have been placed under a stricter community quarantine bubble starting March 22 to April 4.

During these two weeks, the following establishments and services will not be allowed to operate:

  • All mass gatherings, including religious activities
  • Indoor eating in restaurants
  • Driving schools, traditional cinemas, video and interactive game arcades, libraries, archives, museums, and cultural centers
  • Cockfighting and cockpit operations suspended under modified general community quarantine
  • Gyms, fitness centers, spas
  • Internet cafes

Meanwhile, the following establishments or services will remain open:

  • Open-air tourist attractions
  • Al fresco or outdoor dining provided that the establishment must follow the 50% capacity limit.
  • Weddings, baptisms, and funerals that are limited to only 10 people

On Monday, the Philippines reported another record-high of 8,019 COVID-19 cases, the highest daily increase since the pandemic began, bringing the total to 671,792.

The OCTA Research group earlier said that the stricter restrictions placed over the ‘NCR Plus’ bubble are unlikely to bring down the reproduction number of the coronavirus to 1 within two weeks.
