Trade Sec. Lopez finishes quarantine as he tested negative for COVID-19

Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez on Sunday said he is done with his quarantine as he tested negative for SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19.

"Gumaling na. Natapos na ang isolation natin kahapon. (We have recovered. My isolation ended yesterday)," Lopez, who was infected with COVID-19 twice, said on Super Radyo dzBB when asked about his health condition.

"Opo, opo, asymptomatic na po ako. So ano naman hindi na 'yung grabeng variant ang tumama," he added, when asked if he tested negative for the virus.

[Yes, I tested negative. I am asymptomatic, I was not infected with the new variants.]

Lopez first tested positive for the virus in December 2020, and again on March 18 this year.

The Trade chief on Sunday assured the public that enough supply of essential goods are available, thus there is no need for panic buying as Metro Manila and four provinces are set to be placed under enhanced community quarantine for a week starting Monday, March 29. —KG, GMA News
