The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will create a legal team that will look into the responses and explanations of local officials who were allegedly vaccinated ahead of the prioritized sectors.

In a phone interview with GMA News Online on Thursday, DILG Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III said the team will be composed of four officials from the DILG and one representative from the Department of Health.

"Kami sa DILG, magtatayo kami ng legal team na mag-e-evaluate ng responses, apat galing sa DILG at mag-iimbita kami ng isang representante sa Department of Health in the evaluation of responses of these local officials," Densing said.

According to Densing, the DILG has issued show cause orders to 11 mayors, one governor and one councilor.

He said the response of Legazpi City, Albay Mayor Noel Rosal is already being evaluated.

Responses of four other local officials were not yet transmitted to the central office, Densing added.

Some mayors have already defended themselves saying that they only want to convince the public to get inoculated against COVID-19. — RSJ, GMA News
