NICA director general shares post tagging Senate union as CPP front, Sotto denies

The director general of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency on Tuesday night shared on his Facebook page a graphic tagging the union of Senate employees as a front of the Communist Party of the Philippines and New People's Army.

The graphic shared by NICA director general Alex Paul Monteagudo was initially posted on the page of the group which called itself JUST Philippines.

“The Sandigan ng mga Empleyadong Nagkakaisa sa Adhikain ng Demokratikong Organisasyon (SENADO), the Senate’s union serves as the eyes and ears of the CPP-NPA-NDF to hijack government plans and programs,” the graphic read.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III said Monteagudo “must have been misinformed.”

“I would be the first to sense of such if ever. I’ve been there since 1992,” Sotto told reporters.

According to its Facebook page, JUST Philippines “provides significant information on unjust and unseen human rights issues and violations in the Philippines.” --NB, GMA News
