Sara Duterte confirms Singapore trip, says it's for 'personal health management'

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Wednesday confirmed that she went to Singapore for "personal health management."

In a statement, the daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte said she is on leave from April 6 to 10, 2021.

“I have a travel authority to Singapore from the DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government). The reason is personal health management,” Mayor Duterte said.

“All protocols for return to Davao City, including RT-PCR [COVID-19] testing and 14-day quarantine, have all been pre-arranged. Thank you,” she added.

A report on GMA News’ Unang Balita on Wednesday said Mayor Duterte went to Singapore on Tuesday afternoon via a Singapore Airlines flight. She was accompanied by one of her children, a nanny and a member of the Presidential Security Group.

Back in September 2020, Mayor Duterte also filed for a weeklong leave from September 28 to October 5 for health reasons.

At that time, she designated her brother, Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, as acting mayor. --Llanesca T. Panti/KBK, GMA News
