Duterte 'busy with paperwork' amid heart attack rumors, says Go

President Rodrigo Duterte is busy with work in Manila, contrary to reports that he is suffering from a mild heart attack, Senator Bong Go said Wednesday.

In a Facebook post, Go shared photos of him with the 76-year-old leader, who seemed to be handling lots of paperwork, to dispel rumors that Duterte is experiencing a mild heart condition.

"Sa mga may masasamang Hangarin, Wag muna kayo mag celebrate!! Nandito lang si Tatay Digong. Tambak ang trabaho,"  said Go.

(To those who have bad wishes, don't celebrate just yet. Digong is here. He is busy with work.)

"Hindi ito ang panahon ng pagsisisihan kundi panahon ng Pagtutulungan. Suot ko damit kong dilaw pero DU30 yan!!!" Go said, describing the yellow shirt he is wearing at the photo. The term "yellows" is associated with the former ruling Liberal Party.

(This is not the time to point fingers but the time to help each other. I am wearing a yellow shirt but it's still supporting DU30.)

According to Tuesday Niu's report on DZBB, Go dismissed social media posts claiming that Duterte's Talk to the People was moved to next week because the President experienced a mild heart attack.

The senator said the post was fake, adding that he will take a photo of him with the President to show that Duterte is in good health.

Earlier, Palace spokesman Harry Roque said Duterte's weekly public address was moved next week, following the sudden surge of COVID-19 infections. Go also said Duterte's public address was postponed due to the number of virus cases among the Presidential Security Group (PSG).

Go also assured that the President did not have direct contact with the infected PSG members.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
