New quarantine status for NCR Plus known Sunday 3pm —Roque

The new community quarantine classifications for the NCR Plus bubble will be announced on Sunday afternoon.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, who is in hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 anew, is expected to announce the new quarantine classifications at 3 o'clock this afternoon, according to a tweet from GMA News' Joseph Morong.

The new quarantine classifications for Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna and Cavite were supposed to be announced on Saturday, but Roque said President Rodrigo Duterte was still "weighing the pros and cons before making his final decision" regarding the matter.

Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna and Cavite have been under enhanced community quarantine since March 29 amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

The ECQ status in these areas was supposed to be lifted on April 4, but it was extended until April 11 as COVID-19 continued to rise.  —LBG, GMA News
