Total COVID-19 cases in PNP hit 17,194 mark; another cop dies

The Philippine police on Sunday reported 233 more cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections among its personnel, bringing the total count to 17,194.

In a Facebook post, Philippine National Police (PNP) also indicated that another police officer, whose identity was withheld, succumbed to viral disease. This raised the number of deaths to 43.

Also, 278 more police officers survived the severe respiratory disease, increasing the total recoveries to 14,751.

Of the total number of COVID-19 cases in the police organization, 2,400 are active cases.

On Saturday, the Department of Health recorded a total of 853,209 COVID-19 cases nationwide, including 190,245 active cases; 14,744 deaths; and 648,220 recoveries. —LBG, GMA News
