LGUs ask constituents to register online for vaccinations

Local government units (LGU) are encouraging their constituents to register online to get COVID-19 jabs as walk-ins are not allowed at vaccination centers, according to a 24 Oras report.

In Vonne Aquino report, Dr. Karren Gemma See, a health officer at Quezon City, says residents should keep trying to register online. If they continue to experience difficulties with the system, local government officials advised them to seek help from their barangay officials.

A senior citizen, who also has a comorbidity, urged her fellow residents to get vaccinated to protect themselves and others from the coronavirus disease. She was recently vaccinated with CoronaVac, a vaccine made by China-made Sinovac, in Quezon City.

"Mabuti na yung mag-try tayo kaysa yung wala tayong ginagawa, diba? [It's better to try than do nothing, right?]" she said, adding that nine members of her family were infected with COVID-19 last year.

She also did not experience any side effects after getting inoculated with the Sinovac vaccine. — Consuelo Marquez/BM, GMA News
