Galvez: 1M doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine arriving within next 2 weeks

One million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine will arrive in the country in the next two weeks, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said Tuesday.

At a Palace briefing, Galvez said the first 500,000 doses will arrive on April 22 and the remaining 500,000 jabs are expected on April 29.

Apart from the Sinovac’s Coronavac, 500,000 doses of Russia’s Sputnik V will also arrive in the country this April.

The 500,000 doses of Sputnik V is part of the 20 million doses procured by the Philippine government.

A total of 2 million vaccines are expected to be delivered in the Philippines this April with the arrival of Sinovac’s Coronavac and Gamaleya National Center’s Sputnik V.

Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago “Chito” Sta. Roman earlier said one to two million doses of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine will be delivered to the Philippines every month to fulfill the 25 million doses procured by the government.

Aside from Sputnik V and Coronavac, the Philippine government has approved the emergency use authorizations of vaccines developed by Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca. — RSJ, GMA News
