DND receives 50,000 COVID-19 swab test kits from Singapore

The Department of National Defense (DND) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Thursday received 50,000 units of COVID-19 swab test kits from Singapore's Ministry of Defense.

In a statement, the DND said these test kits were delivered at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Quezon City.

The test kits will be given to the VMMC and the AFP Medical Center (AFPMC).

According to the DND, the VMMC, which is mandated to provide medical care to veterans and their dependents, is under management of the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO).

The AFPMC, meanwhile, provides medical care to the military and civilian personnel of the AFP.

Both PVAO and AFP are government bureaus under the DND, the department said. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
