Robredo tests negative for COVID-19

After several days of quarantine, Vice President Leni Robredo on Thursday evening announced that she has tested negative for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“Got my negative RT-PCR result just a few minutes ago,” Robredo said in a Facebook post.

“I quarantined strictly inside my bedroom for 7 straight days. Went out early this morning to have myself tested and went back to my cave to wait for my result,” she added.

The vice president underwent quarantine after one of her close-in security personnel tested positive for the illness.

“Even if I tested negative already, I was advised by our doctor to finish at least the 10-day minimum quarantine period,” Robredo said.

She added that time passed by swiftly as her office was immersed with Bayanihan E-Konsulta operations, a free teleconsultation service for outpatient needs in the National Capital Region.
