DOH: Over 246,000 individuals fully vaccinated vs COVID-19

The Philippines has fully vaccinated 246,986 individuals against COVID-19 as of April 27, nearly two months since the launch of the inoculation campaign, the Department of Health (DOH) said Wednesday.

In its latest vaccine statistics bulletin, the DOH reported that 1,562,815 people have received their first dose of the Sinovac or AstraZeneca vaccines.

A total of 1,809,801 doses have been administered at 3,415 vaccination sites across the country.

The seven-day average of daily vaccinated individuals stood at 35,320, lower than the figures reported over the past two weeks.

The DOH also reported that 86% or 3,025,600 out of the 3,525,600 doses delivered to the country have been distributed to vaccination sites.

COVID-19 vaccinations in the Philippines are still limited to health workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities — the top three priority groups in the inoculation program.

On May 1, a total of 5,000 essential workers part of the A4 sector will be vaccinated in a symbolic ceremony for Labor Day.

Meanwhile, the arrival of 15,000 doses of Russia’s Sputnik V jab, initially scheduled for April 25, was once again deferred due to logistical constraints

The DOH also said the delivery of India-manufactured vaccines may face delays as the South Asian nation grapples with a surge in COVID-19 cases.
