Fil-Am teen dies in Washington gun attack

A 16-year-old Filipino-American was shot and killed by an unidentified assailant at his Rainier Beach home in Seattle, Washington.

The victim was identified as Earl Estrella, who was shot on April 23 as he answered the door of his home at 9200 Block of Waters Avenue South just before 11 p.m., according to a report by the Northwest Asian Weekly.

Eyewitnesses said Estrella was shot multiple times before the suspect ran away, the report added.

“For those of you who knew and loved Earl, this news is absolutely devastating as he was only 16 years old and was a kind and sweet person,” said Daisy Ganal, Estrella's aunt and godmother.

Ganal has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover Estrella's funeral expenses.

"Any amount is greatly appreciated and if you cannot donate at this time, sharing this post will also go a long way," Ganal said.

Seattle police investigation is ongoing for the attack. —Jamil Santos/LBG, GMA News
