53k job vacancies up for grabs in DOLE’s online Labor Day job fair

More than 50,000 jobs from over 600 employers are available for Filipinos at the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) online job fair on Saturday, May 1, in observance of the 119th International Workers' Day.

During the opening ceremony of the “Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan” (TNK) online job fair, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III urged workers “to take advantage of thousands of jobs made available by employers.

Bello said: “677 employers ang nag-alok ng trabaho (offered jobs)… open na ‘yung job fair para sa ating mga manggagawa" (the job fair is now open for our workers.) 

In a Viber group message to reporters, DOLE’s Information and Publication Service Director IV Rolly Francia said that the updated tally of available job vacancies reached 53,788 as of Saturday morning.

Data provided by the DOLE as of April 30 showed that openings consist of 44,724 local jobs and 7,737 overseas.

The top five participating industries are Business Process Outsourcing, manufacturing, government, textile, and construction.

Top local vacancies include customer service representatives; production operators, factory workers; police officers, contact tracers; sewers; and masons, carpenters, re-barmen.

Meanwhile, the top overseas vacancies are for nurses, factory workers, mechanics, nursing aide/healthcare assistants, and cleaners.

Meanwhile, the top destinations for overseas vacancies are Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Germany, and Qatar.

Participating job platforms in the online job fair are Jobstreet, Jobquest, Workbank, Vantagehunt.com, and Mynimo.
