Sotto: 190 Senate employees vaccinated against COVID-19

A total of 190 employees of the Senate have already been vaccinated against COVID-19, so far, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said Thursday.

“Two hundred muna nu’ng isang araw, 190 lang ang na-vaccinate sapagkat ‘yung 10 ay masyadong matataas ang [blood pressure] at ayaw ng mga doctor na i-vaccinate sila. They will have to come back for another day ‘yung medyo relax na sila,” Sotto told reporters in an online press conference

Senate employees were vaccinated last Friday got tje China-made Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines. They also belong to the A2 and A3 categories, Sotto added.

Also, he said that on Monday, another batch of Senate workers will be getting the Russia-made Sputnik V COVID vaccine.

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri also said the Senate is requesting to obtain at least 5,000 doses of the Gamaleya Institute’s Sputnik V vaccine for its 2,500 staff members.

Zubiri said they sought for the vaccination of the Senate employees before the resumption of sessions on May 17.
