Grateful delivery rider and good Samaritan who returned his wallet say moment brought them to tears

The delivery rider who became emotional last week after getting his wallet back said he is willing to hug the person who returned it to him again to express his gratitude.

The delivery man, Anacleto Flores Lihayhay, accidentally dropped his wallet when he came to pick up a package in front of a house.

According to Katrina Son’s “24 Oras Weekend” report on Sunday, a local, Hannibal Damasco, saw the wallet and kept it in case someone came looking for it and after 20 minutes, the rider did come back.

The wallet contained IDs and P3,000 which, according to Lijayjay, he borrowed from friends to use for “pabili” services.

“I can’t explain how happy I am. The nervousness I felt, it all went away and happiness is all I can feel towards the person who got it. He has such a good heart,” he said in Filipino.

To show how grateful he was, the delivery rider decided to hug Damasco all of a sudden which shocked the latter.

“He was already crying when I handed him the wallet then followed it up with a hug. I pulled away since there’s still the COVID-19 threat,” Damasco said.

“He still followed and hugged me while he was still crying so I cried also,” he added.

According to the rider, he’d hug Damasco again just to show his gratefulness.

“I’ll thank him. I’ll hug him again and again to show my thanks. I’ll do that. He’s a good person.” — Franchesca Viernes/BM, GMA News
